Academic Excellence Rooted in Faith

The Christian Academy of Arts, Science & Technology offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for college and beyond. Our courses integrate faith with academic excellence across all subject areas.

Academic Departments

Bible Department

Our Bible curriculum forms the foundation of a CAAST education, integrating faith with learning across all subject areas. Students develop a deep understanding of Scripture and its application to daily life.

Bible (Grades 9–12): Four-Year Rotating Curriculum

Grades: 9–12 | Credits: 1.0 per year

All high school students study Bible together in a four-year rotating curriculum, introducing each student to God as Creator and Friend. The program covers major biblical themes, Seventh-day Adventist beliefs, and practical Christian living, integrating the Bible as the main source of information, along with the writings of Ellen G. White and other historical figures.

Cycle Overview:

  • Year 1: "In the Beginning God…" and "God’s Gift Our Choice"
  • Year 2: "HIS Story Just In Time" and "HIS Story In Our Time"
  • Year 3: "Daniel and Revelation", "Romans", "Beliefs", and "Friendships"
  • Year 4: "Worldviews and Religion", "Life Philosophy and Issues", "Hebrews", and "Marriage and Family"
Texts may vary depending on the teacher. All books are produced under the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist, Office of Education.

English Department

Our English curriculum develops critical thinking, effective communication, and appreciation for literature from a Christian perspective.

Literature (Grades 9–12)

Grades: 9–12 | Credits: 1.0 per year

From where did the English Language come? Who are the great heroes of British Literature? What is the Renaissance? What is the Enlightenment? Students will explore these questions and more, learning of Britain’s success from the Victorian Age to World War I, as seen through some British writers.

Public Speaking

Grades: 9–12 | Credits: 1.0

This class equips students to deliver messages to audiences with confidence. Students analyze speeches, write and deliver their own, and memorize poems, Bible passages, and speeches.

Mathematics Department

Our mathematics program develops logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, preparing students for college and real-world applications.

Algebra 2

Grades: 10–11 | Credits: 1.0

Polynomials and formulas – their functions and uses. Solving three-variable quadratics, vectors, and the polar coordinate system. Logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions are applied to real-world situations.

Consumer Math

Grades: 12 | Credits: 1.0

Students learn about tithing, budgeting, mortgage payments, renting, car loans, student loans, credit cards, and taxes.

Pre-Calculus/College Algebra

Covers topics in algebra, analytical geometry, and trigonometry, preparing students for analysis and articulation in real-world applications.

Science Department

Our science curriculum encourages inquiry, discovery, and an appreciation for God’s creation through hands-on learning and rigorous study.

Chemistry

Grades: 10–11 | Credits: 1.0

Explores atoms, chemical reactions, electrochemistry, thermochemistry, and nuclear chemistry as they relate to everyday life.

Physics

Students learn concepts, theories, and laws that govern interactions between matter, energy, and forces, with real-world applications from atoms to galaxies.

Physical Science

Anatomy and Physiology

Explores the human body’s structure and function, including organ systems and their interactions.

Foreign Language Department

Our foreign language program fosters language proficiency and cultural awareness. (See school for current language offerings.)

Spanish I & II (Sample)

Grades: 9–12 | Credits: 1.0 each

Students develop basic communication skills in Spanish and explore Hispanic cultures. (Check with school for current offerings.)

Fine Arts Department

Our fine arts program encourages artistic expression and creativity through visual arts, music, and performance.

Visual Arts

Students explore drawing, painting, sculpture, and other media. (Offerings may vary by year.)

Participation in choir, band, or other musical ensembles. (Offerings may vary by year.)

Physical Education Department

Our PE program promotes health, wellness, and fitness through physical activity and sports.

Our technology program equips students with digital literacy and 21st-century skills for success in a modern world.

Students learn essential computer skills, responsible technology use, and digital citizenship. (Offerings may vary by year.)

Academic Support

ACT/SAT Prep

Grades: 9–12 (Recommended: 11) | Credits: 1 per 4 years

All high school students are encouraged to take either the ACT or the SAT (or both) exams for college entry. This class prepares students with word games, math review, interpreting scientific graphs, and practice exams.

In addition to credit requirements, students must complete 25 hours of community service per year and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
